Excellent sound quality and powerful dynamics

At the heart of the OctaLite interface are the legendary ESS Sabre32 Ultra™ DACs on the analog outputs, delivering a dynamic range of up to 125 dB. The eight XLR/TRS combo microphone/line/instrument inputs are powered by Burr Brown™ operational amplifiers . They offer up to +74 dB of clean gain and exceptionally low self-noise (EIN -129 dB). This allows you to record everything from subtle acoustic instruments to loud guitar cabinets and drum kits with complete detail.

Versatility: USB interface and ADAT expander

The OctaLite is perfect as a primary audio interface in the studio or a mobile mixer on stage. It can operate completely computer-free (standalone). The device also functions as an 8-channel optical expander. With a single optical cable, you can easily expand your current interface (e.g., MOTU UltraLite-mk5) with an additional 8 mic/line preamplifiers. The compact steel housing allows for side-by-side mounting of two units in a single 1U rack space.

DSP mixing and effects without taxing your computer

The built-in DSP allows for direct, ultra-low-latency input monitoring and independent mixes for the speaker and headphone outputs. Three virtual internal mix buses (in-the-box routing) are also available. Integrated hardware effects include:

Ready for live streaming and synth control

The Loopback function allows you to easily combine microphone signals with computer audio, making the OctaLite ideal for live streaming and podcasting. The analog outputs are DC-coupled, allowing you to send CV control signals from your DAW directly to modular synthesizers.

Full control and software included

A clear, high-resolution OLED display provides at-a-glance signal levels for all analog inputs and outputs. The CueMix 5™ app lets you intuitively manage your mix and settings from your Mac, PC, or iOS device (even wirelessly via Wi-Fi). The full version of MOTU Performer Lite DAW software is also included, along with over 100 virtual instruments and a 6GB loop and sample pack.
