The A-188-1X features a 128-stage BBD chip, resulting in extremely short delay times from approximately 0.1 ms to 1.3 ms. This makes it an excellent tool for classic flanger effects, metallic resonances, and even Karplus-Strong synthesis.

Functionally identical to the rest of the A-188-1 series, the module offers voltage-controlled delay time, external feedback insertion, and flexible patching. The ultra-short delay allows for a rich palette of modulation-based effects that are sharp, rhythmic, and resonant.
