Trace – Analog Morphing Scanner
Trace is a four-channel interpolating scanner developed in collaboration with Ben Wilson “DivKid”. The interpolating scanning circuit — first introduced by Jürgen Haible in 1994 and refined by Donald Tillman in 1999 — blends the precision of a signal selector with the fluidity of a crossfader.

As control voltage rises, Trace smoothly morphs between its four inputs, using a custom slope response designed for seamless transitions and expressive mid-points between channels. This fine-tuning ensures both audio and CV scanning behave musically and predictably, whether slow and evolving or fast and rhythmic.

Following DivKid’s distinctive design philosophy, Trace unites compact 4HP ergonomics with high-quality analog circuitry and refined aesthetics. It’s equally at home morphing waveforms, creating CV-controlled timbral shifts, or performing audio-rate scanning for complex textures.
